Financial Reporting Analyst

Financial Reporting Analyst Job Description:

The Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for assisting with preparation of external financial reporting including compilation of financial information for earnings releases and footnote disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings and other projects as assigned by the position's supervisor.

Financial Reporting Analyst Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of all SEC filings, including Annual Reports on Form 10-K,
Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, Form 8-K filings, and Proxy statements.

Assist in the preparation of footnotes and MD&A disclosures for credit-impaired acquired loans and other areas as assigned in the quarterly and annual SEC filings, and the quarterly earnings releases.

Analyze data variances and work in consultation with business units to identify key business drivers causing these fluctuations.

Summarize new accounting standards disclosure in 10-Q/10-K.

Tie out all supporting work papers to the Form 10-Q or Form 10-K prior to filing, organize in binder and electronic files, and cross reference 10-Q/10-K to supporting work papers.

Review and cross-check information for accuracy and consistency with prior periods prior to filing of all public documents.

Assist in the preparation of Pension Plan annual report and 401(k) Plan annual on Form 11-K).

Prepare Pension Plan monthly rollforwards and other Pension related recordkeeping.

Draft new accounting policies and maintain the existing ones.

Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.

Coordinate audit information requests as needed.

Perform Sarbanes-Oxley assessments and/or testing including monitoring, evaluating and implementing internal controls over areas of responsibility.

Respond to ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special assignments, as needed.

Financial Reporting Analyst Required Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Microsoft Excel including working with Pivot tables).

Preferred familiarity with Workiva application and SAP's Business Objects Planning & Consolidation software.

Analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, 2013 COSO Framework, and Sarbanes-Oxley section 404.

Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.

Financial Reporting Analyst Required Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 2 years' accounting or SEC financial analyst experience.

Experience within a financial services or public accounting company preferred.

CPA certification preferred.
