Network Administrator I

Denver Tech Center

$65K-$70K/yr

Network Administrator opening in the Denver Tech Center. This a is a Level I opening and is permanent hire.

The qualified candidate will have a passion for learning new technologies, a desire to grow/learn and good solid Cisco fundamentals, routers, switches and LAN/WAN.

Responsibilities:

- Performs day-to-day administration of the network and telephony infrastructure. Escalates to senior administrators and engineers

- Resolves LAN and WAN issues at remote locations

- Configures routers, switches, wireless access points, SD-WAN appliances in break/fix and new deployment scenarios

- Coordinates installations of new equipment with local site contacts

- Upgrades software on routers, switches, SD-WAN appliances

- Performs moves-adds-changes for VoIP locations

- Under supervision, designs solutions to support the networking needs of business initiatives

- Audits and documents the network infrastructure to ensure adherence to company standards

- Works a ticket queue to ensure issues are being resolved in a timely fashion

- Works with vendors to ensure cabling/equipment installations are completed per business requirements

- Participates in a rotating on-call schedule

Requirements:

- Knowledge of the OSI model

- Understands functions of devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VOIP phones and servers

- Understands layer 2 switching concepts/technologies: MAC addresses, VLANs, Trunks, STP

- Understands IP addressing, subnetting and ARP

- Knowledge of routing protocols such as: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP

- Knowledge of remote-access protocols: SSH, Telnet

- Knowledge of AAA protocols: TACACS+ and RADIUS

- Knowledge of network discovery protocols: SNMP, Netflow, CDP and LLDP

- Knowledge of Access Control Lists (ACLs)

- Understands common network troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup

- Understanding of Quality-of-Service (QoS)

- Knowledge of VPNs: Remote-Access and Site-to-Site

- Knowledge of copper and fiber transport medias and their associated standards

- Strong desire to learn new and emerging technologies

- CCENT/CCNA

- Client/Aruba switches, SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco Wireless, F5 Load-Balancers, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Firewalls, ClearPass Policy Manager, Cisco CUCM, Unity and UCCX, Netscout, SolarWinds
