Technical Writer

Downtown Denver

$60K/yr

Technical Writer needed on a full time permanent basis for a client in downtown Denver. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer working with RoboHelp. The position is located downtown Denver and includes an RTD pass.

Responsibilities:

- Collects information from several sources and works with various internal staff to compile user documentation

- Regularly reviews and maintains existing documentation for accuracy including grammar and punctuation

- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills and uses source control systems to store documentation

- Willingness and ability to learn new help authoring tools

- Implements and updates internal documentation standards and style sheets

- Creates documentation project estimates and works to meet deadlines

- Assists with the generation of user training material, including videos

- Demonstrates the ability to convert documentation from one format to another

- Provides continuous feedback to improve upon the software development processes

- Stays up to speed on the latest in documentation trends

- Works well in a team atmosphere

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a relevant role

- 3 years’ Technical Writing experience in a professional software development environment

- Experience with WordPress, RoboHelp, Dreamweaver, Confluence, and Sharepoint

- Experience with image capture and basic video editing software

- Strong computer skills and an understanding of computer principles

- Experience with HTML, XML and CSS

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience with MS Word and other help-authoring tools.
