VMWARE ADMINISTRATOR
Plano, TX
Contract to Hire
ICS is hiring a VMware Administrator, within a Windows environment, for our Client in the Plano, TX area! This position plays a key role in the detailed architecture and design of virtual server infrastructure and services.
The successful cadidate will work with all virtualization and cloud platforms; as well as back office server applications and related hardware.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design and architect reliable and efficient solutions combining on-premise and cloud-based systems to best meet the requirements of corporate users and applications.
Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and tuning of server and storage equipment, Virtualization Operating Systems, Network Operating Systems, and Cloud Operating Systems.
Develops and generates reporting to establish capacity and availability baselines and manage systems to the SLAs defined by IT and the company.
Make recommendations for defining System policies and procedures as they relate to SOX, PCI, and
HIPPA regulations as well as best practices for server and storage systems.
Maintains data processing performance by monitoring, analyzing, and performance tuning; troubleshooting server and NOS issues; escalating issues to vendor appropriate vendors.
Cross train IT and TOC staff by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
Upgrades systems by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Mentors associates and fosters a learning and growth environment.
Trains users to use new or modified equipment.
Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or related field required and 6+ years of related experience; or 4+ years' related experience and/or training with a Master's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in Windows 2012 or later version required
Experience with VMWare Sphere and VMWare VRA (VRealize Automation) required
Knowledge of the following softwares required: Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, Communication,
Project Management, Manufacturing, Database, and Contact Management
VCP or VMWare related certifications preferred
Experience with Linux and/or Unix preferred
Knowledge of storage area networks preferred
Experience with Active Directory preferred
Experience with ADFS – Active Directory Federated Services preferred
Experience with DevOps preferred
Experience with Powershell, PowerCLI (Command Line Interface) preferred
Experience with AWS or Azure preferred
Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
