Job Description

The Production Operations Engineer will work directly on projects that improve the experience, efficiency and profitability of the Firm’s investment team.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with others in the Research and Technology Groups to design, implement and maintain automated production processes that drive our analyses.

He or she will leverage a tireless work ethic to share in the responsibility of ensuring the overall health of our production processes and triage issues in a timely manner.

Must Have:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience developing software in the finance industry or proven work experience in a similar role.

2+ years hands-on object-oriented development (strong preference for Java) and experience in scripting languages

Strong desire to find ways to improve systems and processes with an eye towards automation

Software development concepts such as source code control, unit/integration testing, continuous integration, etc.

Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills

Pluses:

Familiarity with Java 8, Scala, Spring Framework, enterprise SOA patterns

Familiarity with a variety of market data providers (ex. Bloomberg, Markit)

Familiarity with business process automation software and best practices

Experience working with large data sets and complex SQL queries

Experience delivering and interpreting portfolio risk analytics such as exposure and duration

Education:

A Bachelor/Master of Science in Computer Science, Financial Engineering or other related discipline (candidates with strong technology qualifications outside of financial services will be considered, but we have a preference for someone with a proven track record in finance).

Proven organizational, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
