Job Description

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the business to understand requirements and how to meet these requirements with security in mind.

Configure, deploy, and support NextGen firewalls and load balancers.

Build/replace network security hardware and software configurations per design, working with security architects, resident vendor engineers, and related support teams.

Operate and support security infrastructure focusing on network security best practices.

Support network security automation systems related to configuration management, rule development, policy enforcement and reporting.

Develop and document change procedures, knowledge articles and implementation guides.

Participate on small to medium application and infrastructure implementation projects to ensure that the end result conforms to security architecture standards.

Responsible for Incident Management ensuring that incidents are effectively escalated, managed, and resolved with full communication of status, plans, and actions to management and customers.

Work with technology vendors to assess software and hardware bugs and implement necessary fixes.

Communicate with both internal and external contacts at a variety of organizational levels to diagnose, explain and resolve problems for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends through research and training.

Maintain broad skills in multiple related technical domains such as server, storage, desktop, security, and network infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications/Education:

Demonstrated knowledge of network security architecture

Understanding of the OSI Model

Functional understanding of the TCP/IP protocol.

Experience working with NextGen firewalls such as Palo Alto, Juniper or Fortinet.

Experience working with Application Delivery Controllers such as F5, Avi or Nginx.

Experience with protocol analysis, network flow analysis, and packet capture devices.

Ability to understand and interpret network security strategies and direction.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills allowing you to prioritize multiple tasks at once and produce timely results.

Demonstrated strong work ethic, initiative and ability to aggressively and effectively troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analyses.

Experience working in large enterprise environments.

Team player with good oral and written communications.

Associate's degree and 2 or more years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the media or digital content distribution industries.

Strong focus on Network Security in the Perimeter space

Experienced working in large enterprise environments

Proven advanced experience working with NextGen firewalls such as Palo Alto, Juniper or Fortinet.

Proven advanced experience working with Application Delivery Controllers such as F5, Avi or Nginx.

Demonstrated knowledge of network security architecture and understanding of the TCP/IP protocol.

Demonstrated ability to manipulate data using scripting languages or ability to model and demonstrated ability to use tools such as Splunk, Kibana, SIEM or SQL.

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
