Description:

This person will report to the Managing Director of Technology Infrastructure and oversee Windows Servers, Exchange, Active Directory, and related software and hardware.

They will manage a multi-tiered, global team of 30 - 50 associates.

Candidates must be an experienced manager with strong leadership, engineering, and vendor management skills.

Three Key Requirements:

Leader - You will lead a team that includes Windows Server, Exchange, Active directory disciplines.

You will build, reorganize, and manage the teams to provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.

Must be a strong Windows engineer with a developer mindset. Use automation and configuration management to drive efficiency and standardization.

Microsoft Ambassador – You will develop and maintain a working relationship with Microsoft and related vendors to keep abreast of the latest development, escalate outages, and negotiate purchases and renewals.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience administering Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Migrate physical servers to virtual servers (P2V). Root cause and system log analysis and reporting.

Organizing tasks, events, and configuring alarms.

Manage Active Directory related operations, including design, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Designing, deploying, and monitoring Exchange in a multi-site, global environment. Experience with Exchange 2019 preferred.

Experience with Active Directory Federation Serices and Multi-Forest Domains

Extensive knowledge with VB scripting and PowerShell.

Familiar with Windows system monitoring and telemetry. Ability to validate the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, including reviewing system and application logs, and monitoring capacities.

Knowledge of ITIL best practices (Incident, change, and problem management).

Ability to successfully lead and prioritize complex projects with competing, concurrent demands.

Strong expertise with production and application support in mixed environments.

Responsibilities:

Technical and people management of the Microsoft domain. Should have 60% technical and 40% people management skills.

Manage the design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and support of Windows IT systems, including, servers, operating systems, hardware, software

Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) and make staffing decisions for the Microsoft technical domain.
Responsible for evaluating existing architecture and design and proposing improvements.

Perform technical root cause analysis for outages, including plans to remediate and prevent re- occurrences.

Identify and remediate skills gaps for team members. Focus on developing and cross-training internal resources and identifying where outside hiring is required.

Interface with other departments to ensure that system service levels are met.

Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations/renegotiations on infrastructure hardware and support contracts.

Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for IT projects and associated efforts.

Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks. Identify strategies that will standardize our environment to simplify management on a large scale.

Develop a standard, automated, patching strategy for our global Windows footprint.

Experience

Computer science, engineering, or equivalent degree.

8-10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure management.
