Job Description

The network Architect would design an on-vehicle network consisting of CAN (Controller Area Network) and Ethernet.
The network topology would need to be scalable to be used in simple vehicles and complex vehicles.

Tasks:

Design an IP backbone with capacity to support safety critical network applications

Research and define networking protocols to support small (?1byte) to large (10's of Gb's) data transfer

Define future traffic management schemes – separation, routing, WAN configuration

Gather requirements and organize in requirement management Tools

Work in sprints with a team

Skills Required:

Experienced with both CAN and 100Base-T1 physical layers

Experienced with OSI networking model

Familiar with Zero-Configuration Networking Concepts:

Network addressing schemes

Distribution and resolution of hostnames

Automatic location of network services

Experience in network programming and network protocol libraries

Experience in CAN protocols and network management – J1939, ISO11783, UDS preferred

Experience with Ethernet routing and VLAN concepts
