Job Description
Before the exam administration:
Complete interactive webinar training self-guided training modules in TCM (Test Center Manager)
Get familiar with the administration and exam security procedures in the Test Administration Manual
Get familiar with Client's social distancing guidelines and the appropriate CDC/State/City guidelines
Support the Test Center Coordinator with the setup and logistics for students and parents entering the testing facility
Provide a customer centric focus that invites a positive experience for the students taking the test
Verify students' identification and check admissions tickets against the room roster
Follow seating requirements when assigning and directing students to seats in the testing room
Account for used and unused testing materials throughout the administration
Read all instructions to students verbatim from the Testing Manual
Supervise between 1-5 Proctors who in turn monitor between 25-50 students each during the entire testing session, including during breaks
Immediately report any irregularities to the coordinator and document them on the Irregularities Report (IR)
Before dismissing students, carefully check the identifying information provided on each collected answer sheet against the student's admission ticket
Monitor the testing room, hallways, and bathrooms for student misconduct such as copying or sharing information
Serve as liaison between test takers, proctors and the test center coordinator
Staff Reporting Time
All test center staff must be at the test center at least 30 minutes before examinees begin checking in, normally no later than 7:30 a.m.
Allow enough time before examinees are admitted for staff to attend the briefing session and to prepare rooms and materials, check internet connection, and log in to TCM
People Management Responsibilities:
Individual Contributor role
Team Supervisor (monitors team activities; no official people management responsibilities)
Team Leader (leads and coordinates team activities and work assignments of assigned staff)
Minimum Qualifications
Who May Act as Testing Staff
Current or retired faculty members, school administrative or clerical employees, substitute teachers, student teachers, or paraprofessionals
All testing staff are required to administer and supervise the test in a nondiscriminatory manner and in accordance with all applicable laws
Who May Not Act as Testing Staff
High school students, volunteers, and lower-division undergraduates
Anyone who intends to take the same tests within the next 12 months
Anyone involved in test preparation activities for the same tests at any time during the current testing year (September
1 August 31)
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service-related experience required, such as education, retail, or administrative support
Minimum of 1-2 years of classroom management, crowd management or complex logistics management experience for meetings or events
Experience communicating effectively and concisely to a wide variety of audiences, including high school students and parents
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong English verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively
Ability to meticulously follow oral and written directions
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions
Computer literate comfortable with working on computers
Analytical skills are required to identify, evaluate, and troubleshoot potential problems
Ability to handle confidential personal information with complete discretion
Ability to work and interact with large groups of people at one time
Possess superb attention to detail
Reliable, approachable, and punctual
