Job Description

The Sr. Software Engineer would assist with designs for an on-vehicle network consisting of CAN (Controller Area Network) and Ethernet by developing Proof-of-concept applications to prove the design validity of the network architecture.

Tasks:

Research and define networking protocols to support small (?1byte) to large (10's of Gb's) data transfer

Develop future traffic management schemes – separation, routing, WAN configuration

Break down work into package and tasks to be pulled into sprints

Work in sprints with a team

Skills Required:

Software development experienced with both CAN and 100Base-T1 physical layers.

Experienced with OSI networking model

Familiar with Zero-Configuration Networking Concepts:

Network addressing schemes

Distribution and resolution of hostnames

Automatic location of network services

Experience in network programming and network protocol libraries

Experience in CAN protocols and network management – J1939, ISO11783, UDS preferred

Experience with Ethernet routing and VLAN concepts
