Job Description

Responsible for overseeing systems and IT staff that directly support the operations function at all residential communities.

This includes oversight of Tier 1 Support (Help Desk), liaison with existing software vendors, managing operations technology initiatives, and ensuring that we have the right operations management systems in place and configured properly to optimize the customer experience.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Manages internal staff including Tier 1 Support and outside contract resources as needed.

Leads and/or participate in technology and information systems related projects.

Directs and delegates setup and configuration of IT software systems for property acquisitions and dispositions.

Evaluates business case requirements.

Evaluates new technologies and tools.

Represents company strategic interests on partner customer advisory councils and boards.

Facilitates and documents business requirements for various IT initiatives.

Provides leadership and direction for staff under his/her/their supervision, which includes but not limited to; effective employee relations, compliance with employment laws, ongoing training, staff motivation, and communication regarding company policies.

Ensures regular coaching and development reviews for all direct reports.

Interface with the CEO, CIO, and VP of Marketing on new and existing strategic IT initiatives.

Participate and provide recommendations and updates in monthly IT Steering Committee meetings.

Work closely with the training and education department to ensure systems process documentation is current and communicated.

Oversee the change management process for all systems software updates.

Participate and provide documentation for systems internal controls audits.

Ensure that the systems used by operations management to engage customers is optimized to ensure the
most effective and efficient customer experience.

General:

Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development. Attend industry technology conferences.

Miscellaneous duties as required, including but not limited to backing up/assisting colleagues, participating in and supporting volunteer activities, and overall demonstrating commitment to our mission, vision and values,

Participate in special assignments from time to time as directed by the CIO and or CEO

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

College degree required. Information Technology or Business preferred. 8-10 years of experience in
Information Technology role with increasing levels of responsibility preferred. Experience in the multifamily apartment industry is required.


COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS: Demonstrates Emotional Intelligence.

Knowledgeable regarding current available technology solutions and proficient in Microsoft applications.

Strong working knowledge of property management software and applicable policies/procedures required.

Entrata experience a plus.

COMMUNICATION and PRESENTATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures.

Advanced presentation, communication and technical writing skills, must be able to present/explain complex systems design issues and proposals at a business case level to senior management.
