Sr Cloud Engineer – Azure, Terraform

Madison, WI office, but can sit Remote

6+ month contract with good chance to extend

Our long-term global client is looking to add a MS Azure Cloud Engineer to their Global Cloud Service team.

This globally dispersed team is responsible for overall enterprise cloud strategy and developing the public and private cloud platforms.

This client is creating a " One IT Shop" enviroment - ultimately looking to make their infrastructure self-serving.

Relevant experience as a Cloud Engineer delivering sustainable and scalable application/infrastructure using Agile

Infrastructure as code (IaC), preferably Terraform

programming languages such as Python, PowerShell or Go

Deliver new services/features via an agile DevOps approach

Microsoft Azure platform, Information security for the cloud, e.g. firewalls

best practices in coding and automation processes and ways of working

Industry trends/latest thinking on cloud platform, automation and coding patterns and components

Microsoft Azure certifications e.g. Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, Azure
Security Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Expert, Azure Architect Expert

Azure DevOps pipelines

"big box” shop experience is nice ( global team / company ) -

Responsible for maintaining and enhancing services for the cloud platform, principally Azure, as part of the Cloud Services Team (CST).

Working with Product Owners you will enable these services to support the business to unlock value from cloud.

You will be part of a globally dispersed team working flexibly to support incidents and change in line with business priorities. The CST supports a remote first principle and work life balance.

Full infrastructure and application lifecycle management

The creation and maintenance of technical patterns that deliver business value

Following an agile DevOps approach

Contribute and interact with Azure DevOps ecosystem, e.g. Wiki, Boards, Epics, Stories and Features

Management of compliance/regulatory controls and support of the internal and external audit process

Ensuring operational efficiency by developing automated processes for cloud workloads

In the case of problems and obstacles you will work to develop robust solutions/mitigations
DevOps Engineering

Improves the performance of the service/feature through end to end ownership

Ensures software continually meets the needs of the business and user

Improves quality and removes toil through code and automation

Builds security upfront into the services/features available
