Job Description
ICS is looking for a Senior mySQL Database Engineer to act as a Consultant and Subject Matter Expert to our growing software client! The ideal candidate will be an expert in MySQL and AWS RDS experience; as well as PostgreSQL to assess the client's environment and recommend & implement database architecture and database management solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Perform Data Modeling, Database Architecture, Datawarehouse Design and ETL development
Develop recovery plan and implement a solution for data loss or data corruption
Create backups and recovery plans and implementations for SQLite DBA
Review the MySQL DB architecture and provide recommendations for improvement
Review setup, architecture and configuration of PostgreSQL
Assess and create recommendations for metrics, alerts, and optimization of SE SQL queries/APM metrics
Extract data to write scripts to scramble data and then import data to test environments.
Write plans to automate database installations
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and others
Work within an agile scrum team, contributing to an atmosphere of continuous improvement
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
8+ years of experience in database engineering; both architect and administration level
Extensive hands-on experience with the following:
MySQL
AWS, RDS
PostgreSQL
Python, PHP, or Ruby
Ruby
Proven problem-solving skills
Must be able to work in a fast paced team environment
Capable of designing and maintaining schemas
Capable of leading code reviews
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
SYBASE/SQL DBA
