Job Description

All work is being done in Scala (need 2+ yrs experience), heavily use functional programming principles<<<
Overall should be senior level candidates, who can guide and mentor others
Not big data role, need to have microservice experience
If they have other functional programming experience (Clojure, Haskell, etc we can try that, but they MUST be open to coding in Scala)
Kafka for streaming
NoSQL (Cassandra)
AWS – at least 1 year with public cloud
Basic understanding of various services (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda)
Docker experience is a MUST, prefer Kubernetes
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree
At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
At least 2 years of experience with functional programming languages (Scala or Clojure or Haskell or Common Lisp)
At least 1 year of experience with public cloud services (Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure)
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree
10+ years of experience in software development
5+ years of experience with functional Scala
4+ years of experience with cloud technologies
4+ years of experience with open source frameworks
3+ years of experience designing or architecting distributed systems
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
