Job Description

Will be a strong Sr. Administrator
Familiarity with SQL 2005 to SQL 2017
Performance Tuning and Monitoring Tools Experience; Spotlight is preferred. Idera or other tools are sufficient.
Familiar with upgrades and patching
Enterprise experience is a must have; 500-700 SQL Servers under management
Knows Best Practices for Stored Procs, Indexes, Partitions
Azure Knowledge is a must have. Azure SQL DB (PaaS) is nice to have. Azure SQL Managed Instance is a plus
Assignment length is 6 months and may convert into a FTE as a possibility
Willing to Participate in On-Call Rotation
Minimum 7 years as a DBA
Responsibilities:

Database Administration and Data Engineering expertise for performance tuning, upgrading, deploying best practices for its’ fleet of 500 - 700 Enterprise SQL Server environments as well as design practices for current and future Azure SQL environments.
This will involve providing best practices guidance in upgrade paths, patching approaches with fail-safes in place, performance monitoring, and best practices for Stored Procedures, Indexes, Partitions, and other Data Definition as well as Data Manipulation Language.
Database Administration and Data Engineering discipline with the ability to design, execute, and guide in best practices for performance and stability improvements for both SQL Server on-premise servers as well as Azure SQL cloud Platform as a service instances.
Hands-on Production SQL Server DBA activities as required including on-call rotation
