Job Description

The Position:

Looking to add to the eCommerce team. ALL candidates must have Product Retail experience.
Looking for an experienced Senior MySQL Database Engineer who can own the Magento Database and backend DB operations support.
Candidates must go beyond general DB administration - someone who knows how the MySQL engine works
Someone with Strong Infrastructure knowledge (e.g networking , replicatio) and can tune queries for the developers.
Someone with very strong SQL Tuning skills on the Public cloud (AWS Aurora is a plus)

Responsibilities:

Solve complex issues in live cloud server environments and provide software configuration and tuning recommendations for optimal performance.
advanced-level issues or customer escalations and take ownership of the issues.
Collaborate closely with stake holders on matters related to application configuration.
Actively participate in architecture discussions and propose solutions to system and product changes across teams.
Identify and drive application improvements and modifications to support the project delivery.
Cross-team collaboration and communication. Develop and maintain automation tools for team needs.
Communicate to Internal and External Developers /Community /Merchants.
Provide mentorship for team members Maintenance and debugging of projects based on Magento.
Participate in peer code reviews. Available for on-call rotation, work off hours, holiday and weekend hours as required.

Requirements:

7+ years' experience working on a PaaS SaaS managing MySQL / Aurora databases providing critical 24x7 uptime as a Database Engineer or Administrator.
Ideally someone coming from customer facing transactional E-Commerce domain ( with flash campaigns , black Friday sales , heavy online traffic ).
Strong experience in High Transactional DB, Very strong MySQL DB experience - Not just application support but DB infrastructure support on cloud as well.
Knowledge on MySQL HA technologies like Galera or MHA. Experience working with hyperscale cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
Extensive experience with Monitoring Logging Alerting systems.
Experience using Problem and Incident Manager Solutions.
Intellectual curiosity to pursue the unknown and to continuously learn.
Good interpersonal skills and desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, experience using/implementing CICD frameworks such Jenkins, Travis, Gitlab CI.

Preferred:

Bachelor degree on Computer Science or similar
AWS/Azure Certification
MySQL /Aurora certifications
Other database experience /certifications with SQL/Non-SQL on the cloud.
